Chinuch of One's Children Event, Motzei Shabbos, January 3rd 2009

YBH was honored to host the community for a session on chinuch by our renowned Moreh Derech, Rav Mordechai Willig and our renowned principal and mechanech Rabbi Berel Leiner this past Motzei Shabbos, January 3rd. The topic of the evening was the chinuch of our children. Rabbi Leiner's topic was Molding Bnei Torah from the perspective of a Mechanech and Rav Willig spoke about priorities in educating our children in today's challenging world. After his address, Rav Willig opened the floor for a question and answer session while light refreshments were served. The turnout was outstanding and the information exchanged was enlightening. The audience learned firsthand of Rabbi Leiner's approach to molding each situation to the individual child before him and his ability to identify with a child at the level and rapport that is most effective for the individual. Rav Willig added to Rabbi Leiner's concern regarding the ever increasing pace of change in the wider world, addressed some absolutes regarding boundaries and precursors to successful chinuch and participated in a lively question and answer session that was unfortunately abbreviated due to the lateness of the hour. On a somber note, the opening remarks for the evening by Assistant Principal Rabbi Binyomin Perlstein included reciting tehillim for our brethren in Eretz Yisroel in this trying time.

YBH is proud to make available to you the audio recordings of the event for your listening pleasure. Please click the desired speaker link to download or click the "play" button next to the desired speaker to listen online.
