Hislahavus in Learning
Torah education is paramount,
and it is given the utmost priority at YBH. The Rabbeim
and Moros
are warm and sensitive, fostering an environment that is conducive to
superior learning, while conveying a hislahavus for learning in
both our boys' and girls' programs.
To successfully instill this hislahavus in our children, YBH recognizes
that Torah education is more than just classroom instruction -
it must also extend into the home. In addition to teaching
the skills necessary to succeed in Limudei Kodesh,
YBH offers special programs that encourage father/son learning, peer
group chavrusa learning, as well
as shiurim for parents.
The Methodology:
-
Major emphasis is place on Mishna and Gemara,
as well as on chumash via a Shnayim Mikra program.
This program stresses kriah on each grade level
as a fundamental skill necessary for success in all Limudei
Kodesh disciplines. As the children move from grade to grade,
they are encouraged to spend more time on kriah, targum
, and Rashi skills.
-
Rebbeim and Morahs demonstrate a love of
yiddishkeit and learning - hislahavus in learning breeds
more learning
-
Older boys daven in the Yeshiva's daily minyan
.
-
Faculty held to the highest professional standards.
-
Shiurim for parents extend hislahavus for learning
to the home
The Results:
-
YBH students have the skills necessary to excel in
mesivta, high school and beyond. Our emphasis
on teaching skills rather than simply covering
classroom materials has led to the active
recruitment and acceptance of YBH graduates at some
of the most prestigious mesivtos and girls'
high schools in the country.
-
Students are surrounded by outstanding role
models, who embody and foster hislahavus
in learning.
-
Our children learn and develop impeccable davening
skills and conduct.
-
All Limudei Kidesh staff have formal chinuch
training.
-

A Closer Look:
Each year, the eighth grade boys sponsor the
annual YBH Father/Son Melava Malka, where
students of all ages spend an evening learning and having fun
with their fathers. Participants enjoy refreshments, entertainment,
and can win prizes, including valuable seforim, while
developing stronger family bonds and learning skills
