Laying our Foundation There is a Medrash that when Moshiach arrives all of the Yeshivos and Batei Knesios will be transported to Eretz Yisroel. In keeping with this Medrash, it has become the custom, when building yeshivas or shuls in chutz laaretz, to place stones from Eretz Yisroel into the foundation of the building. In this way, we are already beginning the process which we hope will take place bimhaira biyameinu. One of the founders of our Yeshiva, Rabbi Dr. Leon Katz, Alav Hashalom, is buried in Eretz Yisroel. The following pictures were taken when Rebbetzin Katz placed stones from above his Matzeiva into the foundation of our new building.
